International day of persons with disabilities


Today, we draw attention to the fact that it is the International day of persons with disabilities, that was instituted in 1992 by the UN. The purpose of the day is to increase understanding of disability issues, increase awareness of the importance of inclusion and draw attention to the rights and well-being of people with disabilities.

 

There are many types of disabilities and being visually impaired or blind are a few examples that poses major challenges for the persons in terms to managing their everyday lives.
