LVI visiting ONCE and AVS in Madrid

This week Henrik Blomdahl and Christofer Casswall from LVI had the pleasure of visiting two organizations in Spain, both dedicated to supporting individuals with visual impairments.

We began with a visit to ONCE in Spain, a long‑term partner we have collaborated with since LVI was founded in the late 1970s. Together, we supported the establishment and development of early vision centers during ONCE’s initial expansion. Today, Grupo Social ONCE is a leading Spanish organization committed to improving the lives, autonomy, and opportunities of people who are blind or visually impaired. During our meeting, we presented our latest technological innovations and had a very productive discussion. This visit also confirmed LVI’s participation in the TifloInnova exhibition, which will take place at ONCE’s newly renovated offices in Madrid on 13–15 November, where we will showcase our broad portfolio of vision solutions.

On Wednesday, we also visited AVS in Madrid, a specialized optician organization for people with low vision. AVS offers a comprehensive range of optical aids, filters, electronic magnifiers, and various forms of professional support. With a long history and strong reputation, AVS is a trusted resource for both patients and eye‑care professionals across Spain, providing tailored solutions and technical expertise to enhance vision. During our visit, we gained valuable insights into their operations and had the opportunity to present LVI and our range of assistive technologies. AVS will participate in expoptica + audio, an exhibition held in Madrid on 9–11 April.
